Biography
Emily Chu
CRM & Donor Management, Event Support
My name is Emily Chu, and I’m a proud resident of Midway, Utah. What I love most about living in Wasatch County is the people. In my neighborhood, I know I can always rely on a neighbor for a cooking tool or a helping hand with a ladder. I live by the sentiment in Luke Bryan’s song, “Most People Are Good.”
My passion for non-profits began when I worked in San Francisco’s Tenderloin District, an area known for its challenges. Walking through those streets daily, I got to know the residents, many of whom called the streets their home. They looked out for me, often saying, “Do not mess with her; she is one of us.” This experience taught me that we are all human and need a helping hand. The compassion, love, and care I witnessed from the Tenderloin community inspired me to give back.
When I moved to Utah in 2022, I only knew one person in the area. Seeking connection, I knocked on the door of a local non-profit, eager to fill lonely hours and meet others who shared my passion for community service. Every time I’ve volunteered, I’ve not only given back but also learned more about myself and built friendships I’ll cherish forever.
I’ve had the privilege of serving with organizations like Heber Rotary, Habitat for Humanity, and the Midway Grief and Loss Support Group. I strive to be a resource for anyone in need and have learned the importance of asking for help when necessary—because we all do at different stages of life. I’m committed to using my talents to support the amazing people of Wasatch County and am honored to volunteer and serve as a community resource with the Wasatch Community Foundation.
