Joshua Jewkes
Board Chair
Every good board needs a good lawyer. Said no one ever. Still, Joshua Jewkes is the Chair of Wasatch Community Foundation and often serves as its volunteer legal counselor. And he loves doing it.
Josh is a partner with Gordon Law Group, the largest and most experienced firm in Wasatch County. Josh has been practicing business law for 18 years and is admitted in Utah, Georgia and Illinois.
Josh graduated with honors from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University in 2002 and began his career with the international law firm of Kirkland & Ellis LLP in Chicago. From 2006 to 2012, he practiced in Atlanta, most recently at Rogers & Hardin, LLP. Josh moved with his family to the bucolic Heber Valley in 2012, where he partnered with some of the finest lawyers along the Wasatch Back to form Gordon Law Group.
Outside of lawyering, Josh enjoys involving himself in the community and donating time to worthy causes. He has served on various non-profit boards other than Wasatch Community Foundation. He is a board member of the Heber Valley Rotary Club, is a Wasatch County Planning Commissioner and a former president of the Wasatch County Bar Association. Josh is fluent in Swedish and pretends to speak Dutch as well. Sometimes he even speaks English.
Josh and his wife, Dagmar, who has a Ph.D in biomechanical engineering and hails from the Netherlands, are the proud parents of four busy children. Being a husband and father are Josh’s most important and rewarding callings. Josh enjoys skiing, boating, hiking, snowmobiling, shooting sports, tennis and the stunning landscapes of Utah, preferably with his family.
Josh loves Heber Valley and is fiercely devoted to the community. Josh is passionate about the law and the mission of the WCF and has seen both make extraordinary differences in the lives of ordinary people.
