Kate McClellan
Recreation Pillar Chair
Kate McClellan grew up in St. Charles, Missouri. As the daughter of a nurse and police officer, she saw the beauty in service to others and the positive effect it has on a community. She started serving in her community at a young age with Girl Scouts and became involved in Civil Air Patrol and other local organizations in and around her community. With a passion for service and helping others, she had her sights set on a career in Law Enforcement and graduated from Lindenwood University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Plans changed her senior year in college when she met her soon-to-be husband and they moved to Colorado.
Kate spent most of her professional career as an Optician helping her patients to see. She also was a personal trainer, helping her clients meet their health and fitness goals. She is a mother of two beautiful children, and a local REALTOR in the Wasatch Back. She has over 15 years of customer service experience and specializes in relationship building, communication and negotiation.
Her husband’s career as a pilot has taken them to many different areas across the country. They fell in love with the mountains and its abundance of outdoor recreational activities and they are proud to call the mountains of Utah home. Kate is an avid runner and enjoys running in marathons and ultra-marathons. In her free time, she loves to spend time in the mountains with her family and their German Shepherd, Ameerah. You can also find her practicing yoga, skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking and paddleboarding.
