Biography

Bill Marble

Director, Fundraising Committee

Dr. Bill Marble comes to us with extensive community service experience. From 2016-2019 he and his wife served as mission leaders in Trujillo, Peru for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He also previously served as a bishop and stake president and as the JustServe specialist for the North America West Area. Bill served on the Board of Directors of the Food Bank of Yolo County for 12 years. He also served on the Welfare Reform Task Force for Yolo County and as president of Woodland’s interfaith service organization. Elected to Woodland’s City Council in 2006, 2010 and 2014, Bill served as Woodland’s representative to the Water Resources Association of Yolo County (WRA), the Woodland-Davis Clean Water Agency (WDCWA) and the Yolo County Transportation District (YCTD). He served as WRA Chair from 2008-2016 and WDCWA Chair or Vice-Chair from 2009-2016. From 2010–2016, Bill served as a Director for the League of California Cities, representing 58 cities in the Sacramento Valley Division. He was Division President from 2010-2011.  Bill served on the League’s Water Task Force, Tribal Relationships Task Force, Strategic Initiatives Task Force and as Chair of the League’s Public Safety Policy Committee. 

Professionally, Bill has done much to help in his field. Prior to retiring as a dentist and medical staff member at Woodland Memorial Hospital in 2016, he served as an evaluator and expert to the Dental Board of California and adjunct Instructor at the University of the Pacific Dental School. He also served as Chair of the Government Affairs Council of the California Dental Association and as a California Delegate to the American Dental Association. 

Bill grew up in Davis, California. He lived for 3 years in Chile and Peru, where he became fluent in Spanish. He received a B.S. from Brigham Young University and D.D.S. degree from Northwestern University Dental School. He and his wife, Sandy, moved here to Heber City to enjoy the great outdoors and live closer to their 5 children and 9 grandchildren.
