Biography

Mindy McMaster

Director

A resident of Midway for 15 years, Mindy is happy to call this beautiful place home. After stops in the Midwest, East and Southeast US with her family, it is the mountains and lakes of Utah she loves the best– especially to waterski! Mindy and her husband, David have 5 children.

Mindy was raised in SLC, Utah. She travelled with and studied at several universities including Pepperdine and the University of Utah, where she earned degrees in Exercise Physiology and Chemistry. Mindy later attended the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) Graduate School and received certifications in Diamond Grading and Appraising.

Though her primary job has always been CEO of her family, Mindy has excelled in various other ventures. She founded and owned a retail business for 10 years in Ohio, worked for Utah’s OC TANNER in sales and merchandising and taught sewing lessons. Mindy is a custom seamstress, Pilates instructor, and currently contributes as an international proof reader for the German Jewelry house Wellendorff.

Mindy’s love of the Arts began early when she directed her first play in her parents’ backyard. This adoration increased as she trained in ballet with Mikal Cassalino’s School of Creative Arts, performed with Ballet West, and competed on the U of U Ballroom Dance Team. She has continued to keep her creative outlet alive through teaching dance and theater; as well as choreography, directing, sewing, costume designing, and even performing herself.  As an active member of the Wasatch County community, she has contributed to the Arts through her involvement with High Valley Arts, Utah Arts Collective (previously Wasatch Dance), Heber Valley Railroad, and currently as a board member of the Midway Arts Center Foundation.
