Wasatch Community Foundation and Vail’s Park City Mountain Resort Making a Positive Impact Through Epic Promise
Wasatch Community Foundation (WCF) is a beacon of hope for Wasatch County residents. Our mission is to advance the well-being of Wasatch County residents by uniting community resources and programs through the following pillars: Health, Education, Recreation, Arts, and Human Services.
We know that happy, healthy, well-adjusted families make extraordinary communities. And we work to ensure our local family’s needs are met through basic needs like food, shelter and transportation as well as more developed needs like arts and recreation.
Because we are a community that supports a large quantity of Vail-owned Park City Mountain Resort employees and Vail-endorsing customers, Wasatch Community Foundation has become a beneficiary of Vail’s corporate responsibility platform, EpicPromise.
EpicPromise aims to help strengthen and sustain the communities under its wing through environmental efforts, community involvement, employee opportunities and equity for all outdoor adventure seekers. EpicPromise includes four pillars: Commitment to Zero; Community Impact; EpicPromise Employee Foundation; and Epic for Everyone. how EpicPromise is making a difference with Wasatch Community Foundation:
- EpicPromise has provided more than $5,000 in in-kind donations for Winter 2022/2023 in the form of ski lift and lodging incentives to our donors.
- The program has also earmarked another $5,000 via in-kind donations for 2023 Summer activities to provide as incentives to our donors.
Because of EpicPromise’s donations, we were able to attract new donors and raised nearly $30,000 for our local Day of Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Box programs.
“Our most vulnerable community members were given the opportunity to feel warmth with great food, entertainment, donated clothing, and a sense of community and well-being,” said Jonelle Fitzgerald, Wasatch Community Foundation’s Health Pillar Chair and the Health Director at Wasatch County Health Department.
“We’re grateful for the community’s support,” Fitzgerald continued. “We had hundreds of volunteer hours and many financial and in-kind contributions to make these events possible for our community.”
These initiatives cannot happen without generous donations from socially-conscious individuals, organizations, and businesses like EpicPromise. Please consider supporting Wasatch Community Foundation by visiting our website at www.ourwcf.org. WCF is a non-profit, volunteer organization and all funds raised go directly to fulfill community needs.
WCF is honored to partner with Vail Resorts through its EpicPromise community grant program, which has done tremendous good since its founding, including $18.3M donated in 2021. WCF has committed to be Vail Resort’s feet on the ground, helping fulfill their “holistic approach” to community investment here in the Heber Valley.
Likewise, we invite you to help our cause, as we work to unite community resources and programs to help local Wasatch County residents reach their highest potential.
At Wasatch Community Foundation, we are committed to being responsible stewards of these incredible in-kind donations, and we look forward to partnering with EpicPromise in the future.
