SUPPORT A SPECIFIC PROJECT YOU FEEL PASSIONATE ABOUT
SPECIFIC PROJECTS
Christmas Food Bag Fund
With 1,000+ children in our Heber Valley experiencing food insecurity, we wanted our most vulnerable population to not go hungry over the school break during the Christmas holidays. Food is purchased and distributed to the families participating in the Operation Hope program. Last year, 1,200 children received holiday food bags in Heber Valley.
Weekend Backpack Fund
One in eight children in the state of Utah go hungry, and about 1,000 of those live here in Wasatch County. Youth don’t go to food pantries, so our Human Services Pillar provides a program where the food pantries go to them. School-age children can discretely come and load their backpacks at school with food for the weekend.
Area Food Drive
Support our local food pantries in Wasatch County, including CCPC, Community Action, and the High School. Donations to this fund will be used to purchase items needed at these local pantries.
Roonies Recognizes
Roonies Recognizes orchestrates local volunteers to package rice and bean meals. Your donation will 100% go back into the community in the form of food and supplies to make meal packs. Meal packs are offered at local food banks and the Wasatch County School District’s Backpack Program.
Children’s Health Clinic Fund
The Children’s Health Clinic is an annual program where we provide free health check-ups for uninsured children. Check-ups include vision, hearing, dental, well-child and immunizations.
Healthy School Awards Fund
We provide awards to local Wasatch County schools that are serving healthier meals and snacks, getting students to move more, offer high-quality health and physical education, support staff wellness, and empower staff to be healthy role models.
Thanksgiving Dinner Fund
Having a sense of community is an important part of overall health and well-being. This annual program is a community Thanksgiving Dinner provided by local restaurants and donors alike. We invite all to attend, and we ensure our most vulnerable residents are invited to participate.
UVU Hospitality Degree Fund
UVU Wasatch Campus is developing a newly-accredited Hospitality and Tourism degree, beginning Fall of 2021. WCF is hoping to support this program with needed funds for new staff and equipment, along with new partnerships with local resorts, hotels, and restaurants.
UVU and Wasatch High School Trades Fund
Approximately 30% of Wasatch High School graduates don’t go on to college. We’re working with UVU and Wasatch High School to provide funds for a new trades program. Funds are required for equipment and staff, and partnerships for student training are needed in HVAC, plumbing, electric, and construction industries.
Pickleball Courts Fund
WCF is working with the Heber Valley Pickle Ball Club to fund two additional new courts at Southfield Park. The club is looking to raise at least $80K, and WCF has pledged to match donations to this fund, up to $20K.
Heber Valley Running Club Fund
Heber Valley Running Club meets each Thursday evening at the Heber Valley Brewing Company. Funds are being raised for rewards to encourage attendance.
Bike Repair Stations Fund
The sport of mountain biking in Wasatch County has seen a significant leap in interest. WCF Recreation Pillar is raising funds to install new and repair current mountain biking repair stations on some of our most beloved trails.
Dog Park Improvement Fund
Wasatch County residents love their dogs and want their beloved companions to have a sense of well-being, too. WCF Recreation Pillar is working to make improvements to our current dog parks.
The Heber Valley Marathon and Half
WCF has partnered with the Endurance Sports Summit, bringing you the Valkyrie race, and the Heber Valley Marathon and Half. Starting at Jordanelle, going through Heber and Midway and concluding at Soldier Hollow, this is a race held annually on Father’s Day weekend for residents and visitors alike.
