November Newsletter

The Wasatch Community Foundation (WCF) recently announced updates to its volunteer leadership team—changes that reflect both continuity and growth in its mission to strengthen the Heber Valley community. These updates took effect on November 1, 2025.

After two years of dedicated service as Board Chair, Josh Jewkes completed his term and transitioned to the role of Past Chair. Under Josh’s steady leadership, the Foundation experienced remarkable progress across its five Pillars—Health, Education, Recreation, Human Services, and Arts—through the collaboration and generosity of community members and partners.

As Josh passed the torch, the Foundation expressed deep gratitude for his vision, passion, and unwavering commitment to the Heber Valley. His leadership helped nurture the spirit of service that defines WCF—and like many before him, he leaves behind a legacy of teamwork and progress that lights the way forward.

Stepping into the role of Board Chair is Si Hutt, President of Intermountain Health Heber Valley Hospital. Si has served as a Director on the WCF Board for six years and brings a deep commitment to community well-being and collaboration. His experience and leadership are already helping guide the Foundation into its next chapter of impact.

Kathy Carr continued in her dual roles as Vice Chair and Education Pillar Chair, ensuring ongoing momentum in programs that support youth and lifelong learning. Tom Fowler transitioned from his role as Past Chair but remained a Director on the Board, continuing to lend his expertise and insight.

Several key members extended their terms, providing vital stability and experience:

  • Marvin Rust continued as Finance Chair for another two years, ensuring strong fiscal stewardship.

  • Timothy Ricks continued his dual role as Legal Secretary and Recreation Pillar Chair, helping keep both operations and recreational initiatives thriving.

Continuing their valued service were:
Diann Glenn (Human Services Pillar Chair), Jonelle Fitzgerald (Health Pillar Chair), Mindy McMaster (Arts Pillar Chair), Travis Kimball (Director), and Bruce Wardle (Director).

The Wasatch Community Foundation Board operates entirely through volunteer dedication. Each month, the Board and committees meet to review community projects, allocate funds, and connect needs with donors and volunteers. Every initiative is powered by the passion of people who care deeply about the Heber Valley.

As part of this transition, WCF also announced it is seeking three new volunteer Board Members to join its efforts:

  • Marketing Chair

  • Business Planning Chair

  • Fundraising Chair

If you’re passionate about giving back and helping shape the future of our community, WCF invites you to get involved.

Together, we continue a legacy of generosity, collaboration, and shared purpose—building on the past while lighting the path forward for the next generation of community builders.
