A Letter from the Board Chair

Happy New Year from the Wasatch Community Foundation!

Having celebrated our 25th anniversary last year, we now look forward to the next 25 years of advancing the well-being of Heber Valley residents and uniting community resources and programs.  We are excited to support ongoing services and events for our community, establish new partnerships, and engage more community members in our efforts.  To fulfill our mission, we invite you to continue to support the foundation as a whole or the individual pillars that excite you the most, whether that means caring for members of our community who are struggling, advancing educational programs and continuous learning, expanding recreational opportunities, increasing exposure to our talented artist community, or strengthening self-reliance.

Please spread the word!  Let friends, colleagues, team members, and organizational associates know about our WCF and the valuable work we do. If there is a community project or program that we can help support, please reach out to us. If you know the pillar chair, connect with them directly. If you’re unsure who that is, contact me at si@ourwcf.org and I will make the connection.   If you know others who are looking for meaningful ways to give back—whether through volunteering or financial contributions—invite them to join you in advancing our mission.

I always appreciate the celebration of the holidays and the reflection on the passing year.  It is a natural time to contemplate how time was spent and what brought the most happiness, to revel in accomplishments and remember those on whom we have relied.  It’s a unifying season where a spirit of service binds people together and grace is given more freely.  Along with that, the start of a new year excites me.  It is an instinctive time to put away things that are no longer value-added and resolve to focus time, energy, and resources on the people and purposes that will make the most positive impact.  As you set your personal course for 2026, I hope that the Wasatch Community Foundation can be a means for you to make a difference in your community.

As the new chair of the Community Foundation, I look forward to working with you and hearing from you.  Our overarching goal this year is simple: to create greater impact and to share our story with more people. Both are accomplished through increased connection with individuals, groups, businesses, and organizations in the Heber Valley and on the Wasatch Back.  By uniting around the pillars that make our community vibrant—health, human services, education, recreation, and the arts—and pulling together toward common goals, our efforts will be magnified, and our impact will be multiplied.

I wish you a very happy 2026 and ask you to increase our connection with the community we serve.  You know your individual talents, sphere of influence, and desires for the coming year.  Consider how those align with our WCF, and I am confident that connections and actions will come to mind that will be mutually beneficial.

Thank you!
