The mission of Wasatch Community Foundation is to advance the well-being of all Wasatch County residents by uniting community resources and programs through our different pillars. The Foundation works with many partners in the community, including government actors and private entities, to accomplish its mission. As a non-profit corporation, however, the Foundation strictly adheres to the Internal Revenue Service code and regulations governing the Foundation’s tax-exempt status. Section 501(c)(3) requires that these organizations “not participate in, or intervene in (including the publishing or distributing of statements), any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for public offices.” The Foundation is neutral in matters of politics and does not engage in political activity. The Foundation and its subdivisions, trustees, employees and representatives do not endorse, support, or promote any political parties, candidates or elected government officials.
