A Day of Thanksgiving

Wasatch Community Foundation’s Annual Day of Thanksgiving:
A Community United in Gratitude

What an excellent event this past Saturday! Thank you to everyone whose tremendous efforts brought our community together. The Wasatch Community Foundation’s Annual Day of Thanksgiving, held November 22, 2025, at Timpanogos Middle School, was a true celebration of connection, generosity, and community spirit.

This event was proudly sponsored by Intermountain Health Heber Valley Hospital.

We extend heartfelt appreciation to the partner organizations within the WCF Health Pillar who sponsor and organize the event each year: Heber Valley Hospital, the Wasatch County Health Department, Wasatch School District, USU Extension, Wasatch Behavioral Health, Heber Valley Rotary, and the Wasatch Latino Coalition and LIA.

Heber Valley Rotary also organized this year’s successful coat drive, resulting in an impressive number of donated coats to keep local families warm this winter.

Kids—and plenty of adults—enjoyed a variety of fun games. The football toss was especially popular, with two talented young participants going an impressive 10 for 10! The Human Services Pillar ensured that all resource booths and games ran smoothly, giving families meaningful and fun ways to connect.

The event was also supported by the Wasatch High School ProStart culinary class and advisor Emily Willardson, along with USU Extension, who prepared a delicious traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Delta Stone generously donated the turkeys that anchored the meal. The food service team estimated serving around delicious 550 meals!

Entertainment was coordinated by our Arts Pillar and featured outstanding musical guests, including Desert MirageCanyon Cottle and his high school band (performing their first live show ever), and the Midway Swiss Miss. Their performances attracted many community members who may not have otherwise known about the event—or about WCF—creating invaluable visibility and new connections.

The Education Pillar led a heartfelt Cards of Kindness project. This year, more than 200 cards were created by Latinos in Action students, community members, and children attending the event.

  • Thanksgiving cards were delivered to residents at Rocky Mountain Care Center.
  • Christmas cards will be sent to Heber Valley Hospital.
  • Cards of affirmation will be delivered to local jail inmates to uplift and encourage them.

Volunteer engagement across all aspects of the event was tremendous, and it was clear that attendees of all ages enjoyed a memorable and meaningful experience. With so much gratitude filling the space, we hope the spirit of Thanksgiving touched everyone who joined us.

Thank you to all who attended, volunteered, donated, or supported this year’s Day of Thanksgiving. Your kindness fuels the mission of the Wasatch Community Foundation — From the Community, For the Community. We are grateful for you and look forward to gathering again next year!
